Rs. 13 Lakh Car Scores 0 Safety Rating – Not a Maruti!

Citroen eC3 Crash Test Raises Concerns

The Citroen eC3 hatchback, the first Citroen product tested by Global NCAP, disappointed with a 0-star safety rating. Scoring 20.86 out of 34 for adult safety and 10.55 out of 49 for child safety, questions arise regarding the car's structural integrity despite featuring 2 airbags and ABS.

In response, Stellantis Group affirmed compliance with local market regulations and committed to enhancing safety with 6 airbags and additional features across its India lineup in the second half of the year.

While the eC3's safety rating falls short, cars like the Tata Safari, Harrier, Nexon, Virtus, and Slavia stand out as the safest in India, with both Harrier and Safari boasting top ratings for adult and child safety.

Hyundai, traditionally not known for safety, has shifted focus, evident in the Verna's 5-star rating and standard 6 airbags across its lineup. With the introduction of Bharat NCAP last year, indigenous crash testing facility, more brands like Maruti, Hyundai, and Toyota are expected to subject their cars to rigorous testing, ensuring safer vehicles for Indian roads.
