New Honda Amaze likely to launch around Diwali this year.

Honda Cars India currently offers only three models in the domestic market: the Amaze, City, and Elevate. Among these, the recently launched Elevate has received positive feedback from customers and occupies the top spot in the brand's sales charts.

The Amaze competes in the compact sedan segment against rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor. It is due for a refresh, having first debuted in April 2013 and currently in its second generation since May 2018. While the sub-four-metre sedan has maintained decent sales figures over the years, the segment's overall popularity has waned, resulting in reduced monthly sales averages. The Dzire continues to lead the segment.

Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce an all-new Dzire in the second half of this calendar year, while the third-generation Honda Amaze is expected to arrive around Diwali 2024 to reinvigorate the competition. Although official details are yet to be announced, the new Amaze is anticipated to undergo significant cosmetic updates and feature a brand-new interior with more premium amenities.

It is speculated that the five-seater will share the same platform as the fifth-gen City, drawing design inspiration from Honda's global lineup of sedans including the Accord and Civic. The powertrain is expected to retain the familiar 1.2L four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 90 PS of maximum power and 110 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options are likely to include a five-speed manual and a CVT, similar to the current lineup.

Inside, the new Amaze is projected to feature upscale surface trims and materials, along with a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a new digital instrument cluster. Additionally, there is speculation about the inclusion of Honda's Sensing Suite with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
