New Honda Stylo 160cc Scooter Debuts with Modern Features, 45 Kmpl Mileage

India stands as one of the largest two-wheeler markets globally, predominantly driven by commuter scooters and motorcycles. Despite this dominance, there is considerable space for premium and sporty offerings, prompting various manufacturers to explore this segment.

Honda has a lineup of premium 160cc scooters, including the Honda ADV 160, Click 160, and the recently revealed Stylo 160. The Stylo 160, characterized by its neo-retro design, exudes a classic scooter aesthetic, appealing to modern and youthful consumers seeking a scooter with a vintage touch.

The retro charm of the Stylo 160 is complemented by contemporary features, such as LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED tail lights, keyless start, and a choice between a Combi Braking System (CBS) and an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). Additional features include alloy wheels, color-matched ORVMs, and color-coded floorboard and seat covers.

The Stylo 160 comes in Glam Beige, Royal Matte Black, Glam Red, and Royal Green color options. The Royal variants, likely to be the higher-priced ones with ABS options, feature brown floorboards and seat covers for added visual appeal.

Under the hood, the Honda Stylo 160 is powered by a single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering approximately 16 bhp of peak power and 15 Nm of peak torque. This places it in the same league as the Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155, promising a refined performance characteristic of Honda's reputation.

While Honda currently dominates the Indian scooter market, primarily with commuter-focused offerings like the Activa lineup, the emergence of competitors like Yamaha's Aerox 155 and Hero MotoCorp's upcoming Xoom 160 signals a growing interest in premium scooters in India. As the largest scooter manufacturer in the country, Honda might consider exploring this niche in the future.
