How to Apply for an International Driving License in India

Thanks to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways applying for an International Driving Permit in India has become convenient. Anyone planning to rent and drive vehicles abroad must apply for one. Here's how:

1. Visit the nearest RTO with the required documents and application fee.
2. Fill out the application form either in person at the RTO or online via the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways portal (parivahan.gov.in). Carry the acknowledgment along with other necessary documents to the RTO.
3. Submit the documents and pay the prescribed fees in person to the concerned RTO.
4. The processing time for an International Driving License is usually 3-4 business days after document submission.

3. Valid Visa (if applicable) and copies
4. Copy of air ticket for verification
5. Valid medical certificate (Form - 1A)
