Ola Launches e-Bike Taxi in Delhi & Hyderabad

Ola Mobility has rolled out its new e-bike taxi service in Delhi and Hyderabad, aiming to deploy 10,000 electric scooters in both cities in the coming months.

Positioning itself as the most economical means of city travel, Ola claims that its e-bike taxi service offers affordability with a fare structure of Rs 25 for 5 km, Rs 50 for 10 km, and Rs 75 for a distance of 15 km.

The initiation of the e-bike taxi service follows Ola's successful pilot launch in Bangalore in September 2023, where the company witnessed a remarkable 40% market expansion within three months. During this period, over 1.75 million rides have been completed.

Ola has proactively established 200 charging stations in Bangalore, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the electric mobility infrastructure. The company also has plans to set up an extensive charging network in all cities where the e-bike taxi service will be operational.

It's worth noting that similar bike taxi services are offered by competitors like Uber and Rapido in select cities, emphasizing the growing popularity and demand for such convenient and eco-friendly transportation alternatives.
