Ola Cabs exits international markets, and focuses on India

Ola Cabs has announced its decision to exit international markets, with plans to focus solely on its business operations in India. Media reports indicate that Ola Cabs will cease its operations in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand effective April 12, 2024.

According to a spokesperson, Ola's strategic shift is driven by the belief that the future of mobility lies in electric vehicles, presenting significant opportunities for expansion within India. With this renewed focus, the company has decided to discontinue its overseas ride-hailing business in its current form.

Hemant Bakshi, CEO of Ola Cabs, emphasized the company's commitment to electrifying its fleet and enhancing its offerings. Ola currently operates around 8,000 electric scooters and plans to transition its entire fleet of 3-wheelers and 4-wheelers to electric vehicles in the coming years.
