Mercedes India plans 9 new car and SUV launches in 2024

Over the past few years, India's road network has undergone significant development, now ranking as the second largest in the world. As the country continues to prioritize infrastructure growth, numerous road projects are in the pipeline, aimed at expanding national highways and high-speed corridors.

In a significant development, Mumbai and Kolkata are poised to achieve seamless access-controlled expressway connectivity by 2028. According to a recent report by Infra News India, this connectivity will be facilitated by several upcoming expressways linking cities between the two metropolitans.

Key expressways contributing to this connectivity include the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway, Nagpur-Bhandara-Gondia Expressway, Raipur-Dhanbad Economic Corridor, and Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway.

By 2028, the Mumbai to Kolkata route is expected to be almost seamlessly connected via the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway, Nagpur-Bhandara-Gondia Expressway, and other expressways. However, connectivity between Bhandara and Raipur may still be incomplete.

While the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is yet to confirm the proposal, speculation arises following the proposal of the Nagpur-Bhandara-Gondia Expressway, also known as the Eastern Maharashtra Expressway. This highway extension aims to connect Nagpur, Bhadra, and Gondia districts, significantly reducing travel time between Nagpur and Gondia to approximately two hours.
