Delhi-Meerut Expressway entry/exit near Crossings Republik to be revamped.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to redesign the entry/exit points along the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, aiming to eliminate the need for commuters to drive on the wrong side of the highway. The plan includes shifting the entry/exit point by 500 meters towards Lal Kuan and creating a new entry point for commuters from Crossing Republic and Greater Noida West. The initiative, which is estimated to cost ₹9.6 crore, is expected to begin soon. There will be improvement in traffic management on the 59.77 km long Delhi-Meerut Expressway with 14 traffic lanes.

NHAI has finalized plans to reconfigure the entry/exit points on Delhi-Meerut Expressway near Crossing Republic, Ghaziabad. Under the current system, commuters traveling from Ghaziabad to Delhi have to drive on the wrong side of National Highway 9 (NH9) for some time to reach the expressway.

Under the proposed plan, the entry/exit point will be shifted 500 meters closer to Lal Kuan. Additionally, for the convenience of Crossing Republic and Greater Noida West commuters, a new entry point will be established on Ghaziabad to Delhi lane from NH 9 to DME, located 300 meters before Crossing Republic Township. The aim of this reconfiguration is to increase traffic flow and eliminate the need for wrong-way driving.

NHAI officials have revealed that the project is expected to cost Rs 9.6 crore and work is expected to start in the next few weeks. The plan also outlines the construction of an exit from the Delhi-Meerut Expressway to NH9 near Vijay Nagar Road on Delhi Ghaziabad Lane, providing access to Ghaziabad city.

The Delhi-Meerut Expressway, which stretches for 59.77 km from Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut's Partapur, includes a 19-km stretch from UP-Gate to Ghaziabad's Dasna. The expressway, inaugurated in December 2021, has a total of 14 traffic lanes, with three inner lanes on each side designated for the expressway and four outer lanes on each side serving as NH9.
