VinFast VF3 Files Patent in India for Small Electric Car with a 201 Kms Range

VinFast the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer is taking significant strides in India by constructing a state-of-the-art EV manufacturing plant. With an annual capacity of 1.50 lakh units and an investment of approximately Rs 4 000 crore this facility reflects VinFast’s commitment to the growing Indian electric vehicle market.

VinFast VF3 Patent Filed in India

As part of its plans to introduce electric vehicles in India by 2025 VinFast has filed a patent for the VF3 electric hatchback signaling a crucial step in this direction. The VF3 the first in VinFast’s electric lineup for India features a distinctive design suitable for Indian roads with dimensions of 3 190mm in length 1 679mm in width and 1 620mm in height. The spacious cabin includes advanced features like a 10-inch infotainment screen foldable second-row seats and dual airbags.

Motor Configuration and Range

Available in two trims – Eco and Plus the VF3 aims for a range of 201 kilometers on a full charge. Positioned in the entry-level EV segment it competes with rivals like the MG Comet and Tata Tiago with an estimated price range of Rs 7-10 lakhs.

Urban Mobility Solution

Designed for congested city environments the compact VF3 offers maneuverability and zero-emission attributes. With practical features like a sleek design foldable seats and advanced technology it addresses the challenges of traffic congestion and limited parking space in urban areas.

Forward-Looking Vision

VinFast’s vision extends to its upcoming manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi Tamil Nadu with an annual capacity of 1 50 000 units and an investment of Rs. 4 165 crore. This plant is poised to create local job opportunities and serve as a base for exporting to South Asia the Middle East and African countries showcasing VinFast's commitment to the broader global market.
