Tata Motors has an array of product launches scheduled for this year, including the recently introduced Punch EV and the upcoming all-electric Harrier. However, one of the most anticipated launches is the Tata Curvv, a coupe SUV that made its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo after being unveiled in 2022. A test mule of the Curvv has been spotted testing on Indian roads, providing a glimpse of the undisguised production-spec model.
Design:
The Curvv prototype displayed a radical front fascia with a sleek LED strip on top and dual-projector LED headlamps inside triangular clusters at the bottom. The side profile features muscular wheel arches, sleek connected LED tail lamps, a wide track, shark fin antenna, and a prominent bootlid spoiler.
Interiors:
Inside, the cabin of the Curvv boasts a minimalist theme with an all-black layout. Notable features include a floating touchscreen infotainment display, a fully-digital instrument console, Tata’s new two-spoke steering wheel with a touch panel, and touch-based HVAC controls. Additional expected features include powered ORVMs, push-button start, wireless smartphone charging, and a panoramic sunroof.
Expected Powertrain Specs:
The Curvv will be available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and fully-electric variants. The electric version is anticipated to offer single- and dual-motor setups, with the former featuring a front-wheel-drive layout and the latter an all-wheel-drive configuration. The electric Curvv is expected to achieve a range of around 400-500 km on a single charge.
For the ICE version, the Curvv is likely to be powered by a new 1.2-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine showcased at Auto Expo 2023, delivering 123 bhp and 225 Nm of peak torque. Both manual and automatic transmissions are expected, with a CNG derivative joining the lineup later. The recently spotted test mule is believed to be the ICE version of the coupe SUV.
