Pune Metro Boosts Last-Mile Connectivity with More Feeder Bus Services

To enhance last-mile connectivity Maha Metro responsible for implementing the Pune Metro plans to collaborate with Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) to adjust feeder bus services from more stations. This decision follows the recent launch of a feeder service from Ramwadi Metro station to Lohegaon Airport which has increased daily footfall.

Feeder buses have been operating from Civil Court Nal Stop and Garware College stations since August last year but their frequency was reduced due to low demand. Maha Metro aims to reorganize these services to ensure seamless passenger connectivity and encourage greater usage of feeder buses.

Daily commuters have suggested deploying smaller buses during peak hours to connect nearby areas like Karvenagar and Prabhat Road from Nal Stop station. The extension of the feeder bus route from Ramwadi Metro Station to Lohegaon Airport has already proven successful in increasing daily footfall.

In addition to feeder buses share-an-auto services will soon be available at Metro stations. This decision was made during a meeting between a city-based forum working on transport issues auto rickshaw unions and Maha Metro officials further facilitating easy access to Metro stations and improving transportation in Pune for residents and visitors alike.
