Bajaj Auto is breaking new ground in the Indian two-wheeler market with its upcoming CNG bike, which marks a significant shift away from CNG being limited to cars. The move is driven by rising fuel costs and demand for more efficient and eco-friendly alternatives.

Media reports indicate that Bajaj Auto is actively developing various fuel options for its bikes, including LPG, CNG and ethanol-blended fuels. The company aims to provide options that are not only cost effective but also environment friendly. Bajaj is currently in the advanced stages of developing a petrol cum CNG bike with the codename Bruiser 101. If everything goes according to plan, this innovative bike may hit the market within the next six months to a year.

Bajaj has already prepared some prototypes of the 110cc CNG bike and intends to manufacture it at its Aurangabad factory, with plans for additional production at its Pant Nagar facility. It is likely that Bajaj will consider using the Platina nameplate for this CNG bike.

Although Bajaj Auto ED Rakesh Sharma did not give specific details about the bike, he stressed the company's commitment to reducing the import bill and addressing India's challenges in curbing pollution. Bajaj has a history of being a pioneer in the adoption of CNG and LPG in three-wheelers, and they are poised for significant demand.
