Delhi government signs agreement with Switch Mobility for 950 low-floor e-buses.

Delhi government has recently entered into an agreement with Switch Mobility for the purchase of 950 low-floor electric buses. According to Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot, these 12 meter electric buses are expected to start arriving within the next four to six months.

These electric buses will be equipped with necessary security and monitoring features including CCTV cameras, panic buttons and GPS devices to enhance passenger safety and overall service quality. Notably, Delhi is a leader in electric buses, with the highest number of such vehicles among Indian cities.

Delhi Transport Commissioner Ashish Kundra confirmed the deal in a post on social media, saying, Delhi Government has signed an agreement with @SwitchMobility for 950 low-floor 12-metre electric buses under the National Bus Programme. 

Switch Mobility is the electric vehicle division of Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, and this collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to the adoption of electric mobility in Delhi's public transport system.
