Adani Green Energy, a provider of renewable energy, said on Tuesday that its full operating capacity is now certified as zero-waste-to-landfill. According to a statement from the firm, "AdaniGreen Energy Ltd (AGEL), the renewable energy division of the diverse Adani portfolio companies, has acquired the Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) accreditation for 100% of its operating capacity."

Intertek, a provider of cutting-edge and customized assurance, testing, inspection, and certification solutions, conducted this study. According to it, Intertek conducted a thorough audit of the data and information up through FY22.

This accreditation confirms that AGEL has a fully functional waste management system in place for all of its working facilities, the company said.

The AGEL has successfully attained a 99% landfill diversion rate. Since setting a goal to achieve Zero-Waste-to-Landfill (ZWL) certification for its entire operating capacity by 2024 to 2025, AGEL has complied with all relevant Environment and Health Safety (EHS) regulations and made sure that waste is disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way possible, the company claimed.

With 20.4 GW of locked-in growth across operating, under-construction, awarded, and acquired assets, AGEL has one of the largest renewable portfolios in the world, serving investment-grade counterparties. The business creates utility-scale grid-connected solar and wind farm projects and then constructs, owns, runs, and maintains them.
