IIT Kanpur startup develops wireless EV charging system

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has granted permission to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to relocate segments of a sewage pipeline and recycled water pipeline along the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway between Ambience Mall and Rajiv Chowk, a senior GMDA official confirmed.

These utility pipelines need to be shifted to facilitate the construction of a Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor along the designated stretch. The NCRTC will be responsible for carrying out the relocation at its own expense, according to GMDA officials.

The NCRTC has identified seven sections along the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway where the master sewer line and water recycle pipeline need to be relocated. Permission has been granted by the authority for the shifting of these pipelines, with a stipulation to ensure that existing services are not disrupted during the execution of the work.

The RRTS corridor construction is planned in three phases. The first phase involves constructing a 107-km stretch from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to SNB Urban Complex (Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror), passing through regional nodes like Gurugram, Manesar, Panchgaon, and Rewari.

In the subsequent phases, the line will be extended from SNB to Sotanala and from SNB to Alwar, with stations planned at Shahjahanpur, Neemrana, and Behror. The project awaits final approval from the central government, as indicated by an NCRTC spokesperson.
