Types of hybrid car models

To either attain the highest possible fuel efficiency or to keep the price of hybrid cars as low as feasible, automakers employ several hybrid designs.

    1. Parallel Hybrid:

      The parallel hybrid is the most widely used or common hybrid type. It powers the car using both internal combustion and electric engines. When more power is needed, such as during a hill climb or to pass another vehicle, one of them can operate independently or be used as the main power source. Both power sources are referred to as "parallel" because they are linked in parallel to the gearbox or transmission. The Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Toyota Prius are a few examples of parallel hybrid vehicles.

    2. Series Hybrid:

      This sort of hybrid vehicle also uses an electric motor in addition to a gasoline internal combustion engine. But rather of moving the vehicle forward, the internal combustion engine produces electricity to power the battery pack. The electric motor(s) are powered by the battery pack, which also supplies energy to the wheels. The BMW i3, Kia Optima, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Volt, etc. are examples of Series Hybrid vehicles.

    3. Plug-in hybrid

    4. Two-Mode Hybrid:

      This hybrid design style has two distinct operating modes. On the first mode, it functions just like a standard hybrid card. In the second mode, the design may change to satisfy various engine demands for a variety of vehicle duties.

    5. Mild-Hybrid:

      In recent years, the price to produce an effective hybrid automobile has remained high. Automakers are coming up with innovative ways to make hybrid technology accessible to the general public. Automobile manufacturers are using mild hybrid designs to meet pollution standards and modestly increase fuel efficiency without significantly raising the price. In this sort of hybrid, the electric motor works with the gasoline engine to enhance performance, increase fuel efficiency, or both. It also serves as a starter for the automatic start/stop feature, which turns the engine off when the car comes to a halt and saves gasoline in the process. Automobiles like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Ciaz, and Baleno are examples of mild hybrids.
