How to Get a Driving License in Pune?

If you've been meaning to get a driver's licence in Pune but have been putting it off owing to a lack of time, you may now do it online. The Regional Transport Office in Pune issues driving licences (RTO).

How to Obtain a Driving License in Pune?

Make sure you apply for a Learner's Licence before applying for a driving licence in Pune. In Pune, you may apply for a driver's licence online. You can apply for a driving licence in person at the RTO of your choice, or you can do it online.

You can obtain a Driving Licence (DL) by completing the steps outlined below:

    1. Visit the official Maharashtra Transport website or the Sarathi website.

    2. Download the driving licence application form.

    3. After downloading the form, the following step is to fill it out.

    4. Fill up the necessary information. Name, cellphone number, email address, PAN number, kind of motorbike, permanent address, temporary address, birthplace, date of birth, educational qualification, identity marks, citizenship status, blood group, and so on are all required.

    5. Upload the medical certificate (Form 1A), learner's licence, driving school certificate, and any other supporting papers.

    6. Fill in the captcha code and press the "submit" button.

    7. When you submit your application, you will be given a "application reference number" and an appointment to see the Regional Tramnsport Office (RTO).

    8. You must take the car to the RTO on the day of the appointment. It should be noted that the vehicle type must match what was indicated on the application.

    9. You will be required to drive in the presence of an RTO Official during the driving test.

    10. The results will be released within the next several hours. If you fail, you will be required to retake the Driving Licence (DL) test in a few days.

    11. If you pass the driving test, your licence will be mailed to you within a few days.

RTO Duplicate Driving Licence

If your driver's licence is stolen, tampered with, or misplaced, you can get a duplicate. All you have to do is submit a First Information Report (FIR) with the police and then go to the RTO Office with a copy of the FIR and other supporting papers such as a correctly completed Intimation of loss of destructive of driving licence and application for duplicate (LLD) form, a damaged card if available, identification proof, address proof, and the costs for producing a duplicate DL. A duplicate driving licence will be supplied to you after successful verification.

The following documents are required:

    1. Completed application form

    2. Two passport-sized photographs

    3. A duplicate of the PAN card

    4. Obtain a copy of the FIR

    5. DL Damage

    6. Evidence of residency

Driving License Renewal in Pune

A permanent driving licence given in Pune is normally good for 20 years or until the applicant is 50, whichever comes first. An applicant should apply for renewal at least 30 days before the DL's expiry date.

The applicant can apply for DL renewal in person at the relevant RTO or online at the Maharashtra Transport website. You can obtain the application form for DL renewal from the website, fill it out correctly, and present it in person to the relevant RTO. A renewed driver's licence will be granted when the papers are verified.

Please keep in mind that while applying for a licence renewal, a health clearance certificate from a licenced medical practitioner certifying that the individual is fit to drive may be necessary.
