According to regional transportation office, five private cars operating in and around were apprehended on Friday for allegedly ferrying commuters illegally in private vehicles. "We have taken action against them for ferrying passengers illegally without a permit. We've also seized two automobiles", RTO officer Bharat Kalaskar added.
Taxi unions have been vocal in their opposition to such unscrupulous operators that shuttle people for a flat fee per seat. The Regional Transport Offices (RTO) will continue its efforts to keep such taxi drivers/owners off the roads.
