Indore: E-rickshaw routes are expected to be determined in Indore, where there is a 'real' need for these battery-powered vehicles. On the recommendation of the Indore traffic police, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) has selected 52 lanes for e-rickshaws, with the request being forwarded to the state government for approval.
According to RTO Jitendra Raghuvanshi, the department has selected up to 52 routes that will be approved following a conversation with traffic police, taking into account traffic conditions and the 'real' necessity for these battery-powered cars on those lanes.
"The final plan will be given to the state government for announcement of e-rickshaw routes," he added.
