The Delhi government has extended the validity of learner's licenses: more information is available here.

The Delhi Transport Department has extended the validity of learner's driving permits that were due to expire on March 31, 2022 by two months to May 31, 2022.

The news was revealed by Delhi's Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, who stated that it is the last chance for individuals to renew their learning licenses .

Those Learner's Licenses whose validity is about to expire on March 31 have had their validity extended for two months, till May 31. Please keep in mind that this is your last and final chance, Gahlot stated this in a tweet.

He also sent a photo of the directive issued by his department in this regard.

According to the Transport Department's order issued on Thursday. the validity of driving learner's licenses has been extended from time to time because the driving skill test and new appointments for the test were suspended in accordance with Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) guidelines to contain COVID-19 spread.

It has come to our attention that several learner's license holders who were declared valid between February 1, 2020 and March 31, 2022 as a result of extended validity due to the pandemic situation, have yet to receive skill test appointments. despite the fact that there are many more applicants than available driving skill test slots.

As a result, the validity of those learner's licenses issued by this department whose validity is set to expire on March 31, 2022 is further extended as a final chance for a period of two months, up to May 31, 2022- the department stated in an order.

The decision further said that the final extension for the validity of the driving learner's license was granted in January of this year, up to March 31, 2022.
