Rajasthan's government has established the Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy (REVP) to encourage the use of electric vehicles in the state. The government has authorized an extra budget allocation of Rs 40 crore for the refund of the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) on the purchase of such cars.
According to an official release, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has authorized this policy, and its execution would minimize pollution generated by diesel and gasoline cars in the state.
Gehlot had announced the inclusion of an Electric Vehicle Policy in the 2019-20 budget. He stated that the state administration is dedicated to encouraging the use of all forms of electric cars.
According on the battery capacity of the vehicle, the state government would repay Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 in State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) for two-wheelers and Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 for three-wheelers.
E-vehicles have been exempted from the state's Motor Vehicle Tax.
