Pune: RTO keeps an eye on driving schools and web cafes to prevent learner license theft.

RTOs in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad have begun surprise inspections of driving schools and web cafes to determine whether or not dummy applicants are taking the learner license exam.

Last year, the Maharashtra government enabled candidates to take the learner license test from home. Previously, one had to present for the test at the Regional Transportation Offices (RTOs).

"Instructions from the transport department have been received to undertake checks at all driving schools." According to the transportation agency, there might be a lot of them.

Dummy applicants were utilized by driving schools to assist students pass the test. The checks began recently and will last a month, according to a Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) officer.

At addition to driving schools, inspections will be conducted in computer cafes. We will seek assistance from the cops. Many touts are in the business of obtaining licenses in exchange for large sums of money. Another official speculated that they must be exploiting cyber cafes to have phone applicants sit for exams in place of original candidates.
