Pune RTO penalizes 82 illegally operating school transport vehicles.

In the last ten days, the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has taken action against school transport vehicles plying without proper permission and license. A total of 82 illegally operated school vehicles, including auto rickshaws, vans and buses, have faced penalty from Pune RTO squads.

According to officials, these vehicles were found to lack the necessary permission and license to transport school students.

We deployed eight squads in different shifts across Pune to check school transport vehicles. It was revealed that 82 vehicles were running without permits from the Pune RTO. We asked all the parents to verify the RTO permits and check the school vehicles. And urged them to check the background of their drivers and hand over their children to them, said Pune regional transport officer Sanjeev Bhor.

As part of this action, RTO officials inspected various safety aspects of these vehicles, including window rods, footrests, seating arrangement, first aid boxes and other safety measures. Additionally, inspectors reviewed vehicle documents, fitness certificates and mutual agreements between schools and transportation providers.
