Due to the possibility that the daytime running lights could not switch off while the headlights are on, General Motors is recalling more than 825,000 SUVs and automobiles in the United States and Canada.
Certain Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, and GMC Yukon SUVs from the model years 2022 and 2023 are included in the recall. Cadillac CT4s and CT5s from the model years 2020 to 2023, as well as Buick Envisions from the model years 2021 to 2023, are also featured.
In documents made public by American safety authorities on Wednesday, General Motors claims that daytime running lights that stay on simultaneously with headlights can dazzle other drivers and raise the likelihood of a collision.
Software updates will be made via dealers or online. Owners will be informed in writing beginning on January 23. In November, 340,000 large SUVs were recalled, and the recall announced on Wednesday includes additional cars.
