The NHAI has requested 15 days to resolve outstanding issues: On the NITK tollgate, Nalin Kumar Kateel

Mangaluru: According to MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, the National Highway authority of India (NHAI) authorities have asked for an additional 15 days to clear the tollgate at Suratkal NITK. Until then, they are asking for the public's cooperation.

Nalin stated that Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has previously promised to get the tollgate removed in the Lok Sabha. He has also met with the concerned officials many times.

Nalin further pointed out that the NHAI authorities had requested 15 days to remove the tollgate at NITK. There are still a number of unanswered uncertainties regarding future road maintenance related to the dispute between NMPT and the Navayuga firm. He stated that it will take at least 15 days to resolve these unresolved problems. "We are not engaging in any political game regarding tollgate clearance, We have nothing against non-political, non-violent conflict," he declared.

Unjust police action

It has recently come to our attention that on Saturday night, the Mangaluru police visited the homes of the tollgate protesters and served notices. According to Nalin Kumar, neither he nor any other MLA gave the police permission to depart at night and issue a notice. Dr. Bharat Shetty, an MLA, agreed with this viewpoint.
