From March, Gujarat will also get free electricity: Bhagwant Mann, CM

Ahmedabad: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Wednesday that the northwest state will start providing free power in March, exuding confidence in the Aam Aadmi Party's victory in the elections in Gujarat.

He made his comments during a news conference in Ahmedabad.

"When AAP pledged to provide free power in Delhi, our opponents questioned how we would carry it out. However, we succeeded. In Punjab, the same was true. Beginning in March, we would also provide residents in Gujarat with free power," CM Bhagwant Mann remarked.

He further emphasized that Punjab's residents will soon have zero electricity expenses.

"I have a total of 25,000 bills. You can examine it. 75 lac meters in Punjab have not issued any invoices to 61 lakh consumers. In Punjab, 71 lakh people would have no bills by January," Added he.

In addition, he made fun of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) by saying, When I initially arrived in Gujarat, I believed I would be able to learn from the Gujarati model. The motorways were OK, but after we went off the roadways, I saw the genuine Gujarati model. We don't say we'll deposit 15 lakh rupees into your account; rather, we say we'll provide incentives to individuals so they can keep their 30 thousand rupees.

He further criticized the opposition, saying, Gujarat's government will be formed here. People have said that we are the BJP's and Congress' B teams, respectively. However, out of 130 crore individuals, We are the 'A team.'

The first phase of the Gujarat elections' campaign came to an end on Tuesday, with the governing BJP and other political parties working feverishly to win over voters on 89 seats spread over 19 districts in Kutch, Saurashtra, and South Gujarat.

Ahead of the first round of voting on December 1, the campaigning was over at 5 o'clock on Tuesday.

"Gujarat's first round of assembly elections' campaigning is now over. Election preparations are complete, and poll workers have received training," P Bharathi, the Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), informed ANI.
