Exciting news about the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift! It was seen completely hidden during the trial run. What's really interesting is that reports suggest that this new variant will include the same Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission that Mahindra uses in other models like the Thar, Scorpio-N and the XUV700.
Currently, all these Mahindra engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission, and you can get a 6-speed AMT with the 110 PS petrol and 118 PS diesel engines.
According to ACI, while the 6-speed manual gearbox will still be available with all engine options, the new 6-speed automatic transmission is expected to replace the 6-speed AMT in the 110 PS petrol variant. It seems that the diesel engine in the facelifted XUV300 may come only with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Apart from this transmission update, the facelifted Mahindra XUV300 is going to get significant exterior changes, such as a new grille, updated LED headlamps and tail lamps and new alloy wheels. The design of the larger XUV700 will influence some elements of the XUV300's looks, as seen in early testing.
Inside, the XUV300 will have substantial revisions, including a new dashboard layout, a full-TFT instrument console, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system and a panoramic sunroof, which will be a first in its segment. The XUV300 already offers unique features like dual-zone automatic climate control and steering modes, which will also be available in the facelifted model.
Mahindra & Mahindra has recalled over 100,000 units of the XUV700 SUV due to a possible wiring issue. The Indian automaker revealed in a regulatory filing that technicians at authorized dealerships will inspect.More
