How to recharge the BEST National Common Mobility Card and Where can you use it?

From Monday, April 25, the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) has launched its own National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). The NCMC service is a National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)- supported ecosystem.

BEST has become the country's first bus service to adopt the common mobility card service by launching its own NCMC.

BEST bus service announced a pan-India mobility card that customers may use for buses, metros, railroads, and all other modes of public transportation. Not only that, but passengers may use the same mobility card to make purchases in food stores and retail showrooms. Because of its interoperability, the NCMC card can replace the Chalo Card, which is exclusively valid on BEST buses.

Passengers may purchase BEST's universal mobility card for Rs 100 as an initial offer. After activation, the RuPay-enabled card may be used to make additional transactions across the nation like a debit card. To top up the card, travelers can utilize an online service or have it refilled by a bus conductor on one of BEST's buses.

Furthermore, the shared mobility card will support the tap-in, tap-out feature that is already available on all BEST buses. The function was introduced earlier this month by the state's environment minister, Aaditya Thackeray, in an endeavor to totally digitize the service.

On March 4, 2019, the National Common Mobility Card was introduced as part of the One Nation, One Card concept. The card may be used to make payments in all sectors, including trains, parking, tolls, buses, and shops. According to sources, the Airport Express Line of the Metro services in Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru is using the pan-India universal mobility card.

BEST is the first bus company to authenticate the card in their vehicles. The NCMC service is set to be introduced at the Colaba depot on Monday by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and BEST general manager Lokesh Chandra.
