Himachal Pradesh is the first state in India to acquire the Rolling Barrier Guardrails. Unfortunate traffic accidents are widespread, therefore the administration decided to take preventive steps. To guarantee that no lives are lost on the roads, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has been actively involved in reforming the whole infrastructure and vehicular policies. This one-of-a-kind pilot project to install Rolling Barrier Guardrails on steep terrain is another step in that direction. Read all of the information about this enormous endeavour.
The Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, commended the state authorities engaged in making this initiative a reality. Departments such as National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL), Thompson Ramo Wooldridge (TRW), Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD) and others are included. These barriers are intended to absorb the maximum amount of impact energy and convert it into rotational energy. The rotating barriers are designed to turn the automobile back in the direction of travel and prevent it from leaving the road. The majority of casualties in mountainous terrain are caused by the car going down a cliff rather than the hit itself. That would be mainly prevented with these obstacles. This installation was completed on the Nahan-Kumarhatti National Highway (NH) 907A, which includes long stretches of road where drivers are frequently guilty of speeding.
