The government will penalize EV businesses that are proven to be careless and will recall faulty vehicles: Nitin Gadkari

Gadkari stated in a series of tweets that multiple disasters using electric two-wheelers had occurred in the recent two months. "We have formed an expert group to investigate these situations and provide recommendations on corrective actions. We will impose relevant instructions on the defaulting enterprises based on the findings", stated the road transport and roads minister.

The government, according to Gadkari, would shortly announce quality-focused rules for electric vehicles. He stated- If a corporation is found to be careless in its practices, a substantial penalty will be applied, as well as a recall of all faulty automobiles. Meanwhile, automakers may take proactive steps to recall any problematic batches of automobiles promptly, according to Gadkari's tweet. "Under PM Shri @narendramodi ji's leadership, our administration is dedicated to ensuring the safety of each and every commuter," he tweeted.

According to the road transport ministry, the Centre for Fire Explosive and Environment Safety (CFEES) was tasked with investigating the conditions that led to the occurrence and recommending corrective steps. The ministry had also urged CFEES to disclose the results, as well as its recommendations for preventing such instances.
