4 Mysuru RTO staff arrested for fake papers in stolen 2-wheelers.

Four employees of the Mysore Regional Transport Office (RTO) have been arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in making fake documents for stolen two-wheelers in the district. Along with the RTO staff members, a local tout has also been arrested in the case.

The accused persons have been identified as Vasanth Kumar, Sasikumar Gowda, Jagdish Raikar and Pradeep Naika, who were working as Second Division Assistant (SDA) in the RTO. His fraudulent activities came to the fore during the investigation of a stolen two-wheeler case under Honnali police station area of Davangere district.

On July 20, one of the bike owners who reported the theft came to know that the fake registration of the two-wheeler was done at the RTO office. Further investigation by the cyber station revealed that RTO Dalal Mohd Rasool had signed as the owner of the stolen vehicle. Due to this ten such cases registered in Basavanagar police station came to the fore.

As the police went deeper into the matter, they came to know that fake documents were made in the name of others for the recovered two-wheelers. The probe pointed to the involvement of four RTO staff members and the tout in the fraudulent activities.

Following the findings, all the four RTO employees and the tout were arrested. The charges against him include forgery (IPC section 468) and cheating and dishonesty (IPC section 420).

The authorities are taking necessary measures to address the issue and ensure authenticity of vehicle registration and ownership documents in the region.
