Leading motorcycle manufacturers, BMW and TVS, have come together to make a significant mark on India's electric vehicle sector. This collaboration has resulted in the creation of the CE 02 electric scooter, the inaugural EV jointly developed by these partners, who are already co-manufacturers of the 310 motorcycle series.
The CE 02 electric scooter is currently being manufactured at TVS's production facility in Tamil Nadu, India. Although it is being exported to countries with no confirmed launch plans, the scooter is getting ready for its US retail launch, priced at $7,599.
This state-of-the-art scooter has an electric motor with a maximum output of 11 kilowatts, which is approximately 15 horsepower and 55 Newton-meters of torque. It is powered by a 2-kilowatt battery pack, which offers an impressive range of about 56 miles on a single charge.
The CE 02 is designed for a seamless riding experience with features like different ride modes, LED lighting and a handy USB port for device charging. It also simplifies parking with reverse gear and keyless ignition. Safety and Technology It comes with a 3.5-inch full-colour TFT display and standard ABS.
Although the official Indian launch date is unknown, the CE 02 electric scooter is expected to arrive in the Indian market, possibly in 2024, and will be priced lower than its US counterpart.
