Fuel prices vary per state as a result of local taxes such as Value Added Tax (VAT) and freight charges. Every day at 6 a.m., the country's biggest merchants modify fuel prices, but consumers may now check pricing on their mobile devices.
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the country's largest gasoline provider, has launched an Short Message Service (SMS) service that allows customers to receive information on current petrol and diesel prices through text message on their phones. To track rates on their phone, customers must send an SMS to the service number 9224992249.
What Should You SMS?
To get approximate fuel and diesel pricing, customers must SMS "RSP Dealer Code of Petrol Pump" to the above-mentioned number. For example, to find out the current gasoline prices in the national capital of Delhi, text RSP 102072 to 9224992249. The dealer code allocated to New Delhi is 102072.
