Aprilia Teases RS440 (Rival to RC390), Launching on Sep 7
Aprilia India has teased the launch of a new motorcycle set for September 7, 2023, which is said to be the most affordable fairing offering in India, which is likely to be named RS400. The model has been spied testing on Indian and foreign roads several times in the recent months.
The Aprilia RS440 takes design inspiration from its elder sibling, the RS660, and is expected to compete with upcoming motorcycles like Yamaha YZF-R3, KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 400 and others.
The Aprilia RS440 is likely to be powered by a 440 cc parallel-twin-cylinder engine. This liquid-cooled DOHC four-valve per cylinder unit is estimated to produce around 48 bhp and will be mated to a six-speed transmission. The RS440 is a highly anticipated release as Aprilia fans have been waiting for a faired motorcycle from the brand for years.
The design of the motorcycle includes sharp styling cues, a split LED headlamp unit, muscular fuel tank, tall windscreen, clip-on handlebar, an aggressive fairing design and a compact raised rear section with an LED tail lamp and LED turn indicators. It will feature an aluminum twin-spar frame, upside-down front forks, monoshock rear suspension, disc brakes at the front and rear with radially mounted front calipers, and standard dual-channel ABS. The RS440 will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels.
