Adani Total unveils its first EV charging station and expands into e-mobility infrastructure.

The charging station is placed at Adani Total Gas Ltd.'s (ATGL) Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station in Maninagar, Ahmedabad, according to a business release.

The Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station would provide speedy turnaround time for EV owners with best in class fast charging technology and easy-to-use digital platforms, according to the company.

ATGL is India's largest private distributor of CNG and piped cooking gas.

The launch of the EV business with the establishment of the first charging station in Ahmedabad is yet another milestone for Adani Total Gas in providing a choice of newer green fuel to India's larger consumer base while timely closing an emerging business opportunity aligned with our vision of offering sustainable fueling solutions across all major cities and towns, said Suresh P Manglani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Adani Total Gas Ltd. (ATGL).

The firm intends to grow its network by establishing 1,500 EV Charging Stations (EVCS) around the country, and has a strategy in place to go beyond 1,500 EVCS, based on demand creation and momentum building in the country's EV ecosystem.

According to the firm, it is well positioned to enter the electric mobility sector and acquire a large portion of the fast rising EV market.

ATGL also benefits from the Adani Group's intrinsic potential to create renewable energy, and may further exploit group-level synergies for green power procurement.

Total Energies SE's global experience in the EV infrastructure field is another component that adds competitive advantage to ATGL's ambition as it seeks market leadership in the space, according to ATGL.

In 19 geographical areas, the company is authorized to sell CNG to autos and piped natural gas to residential kitchens.
