Adani Total Gas enters the EV charging market, with plans for 15,000 charging stations.

Adani Total Gas (ATGL), a municipal gas distribution firm, has entered the electric mobility market with the opening of its first electric charging station in Ahmedabad.

The charging station, which is placed at ATGL's Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station in Maninagar, Ahmedabad, is part of the company's aim to install 15,000 charging stations around the country.

"The commencement of Electric Vehicle (EV) business with the establishment of the first charging station in Ahmedabad is yet another milestone for Adani Total Gas to provide choice of newer green fuel to the larger consumer base in India while timely ceasing an emerging business opportunity aligned to our vision to offer sustainable fueling solutions in all major cities and towns in India," said Suresh P Manglani, Cheif Executive Officer (CEO) of Adani Total Gas.

ATGL also benefits from the Adani Group's inherent potential to create renewable energy and has a significant presence as a CNG retailer across the country. According to Auto car Professional, Total signed a deal with Adani in October 2019 to expedite CNG retail growth in India. In a statement, the Adani Group stated that both partners will make investments in 2019
