Adani Group has obtained a trademark for the term for the vehicle industry, sparking suspicion about its entry into that market.
Adani Group, an Indian global corporation, appears to be interested in the vehicle industry. S.B. Adani Family Trust has registered a trademark for the name 'Adani', which is intended to be used for cars. This announcement comes on the heels of Adani Green Energy Ltd reaching a market capitalization of Rs. 3 Lakh Crore.
The group has established a new wholly-owned subsidiary, Adani New Industries Ltd (ANIL), to develop and operate green energy projects such as the synthesis of low-carbon fuels/chemicals and the generation of low-carbon power. ANIL will also produce solar modules, batteries, electrolyzers, and other critical components for other green energy projects (wind turbines, green hydrogen generators, etc.).
Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL), India's largest private sector power transmission company, intends to grow its renewable energy purchase share from 3% to 30% by FY2023, and 70% by FY2030. Previously, Gautam Adani, the founder and chairman of the Adani Group, declared that the company is aiming to make renewable energy as feasible as fossil fuels.

Because of the Adani group's emphasis on green energy, we predict the Adani group's automotive travel will most likely consist of electric automobiles. In recent years, several EV firms have sprouted up across India, and the country is set to undergo an EV revolution very soon. Electric vehicles are projected to become more common in the future years as EV batteries are manufactured locally.
However, there has been no evidence that the business intends to launch any autos very soon. It should also be noted that this is not the first time the Adani group has registered a trademark for its name in the car industry; similar trademarks were registered by the family trust in 2015 and 2020.
The semiconductor chip scarcity is the most serious concern confronting the automobile industry worldwide, not just in India. Electric vehicles require a substantially greater number of these chips than typical fossil-fuel-powered automobiles, and hence widespread manufacture of EVs would necessitate a major rise in semiconductor chip production as well.
