45 people were hurt, including 35 students, in the bus-van incident.

Ludhiana : A school vehicle and a Punjab Roadways bus collided head-on, injuring 45 people, 35 of whom were students. In the late afternoon, the accident happened close to Jagraon. Three Students suffered critical wounds.

According to police officials, a private school van travelling along the Ludhiana–Jagraon road with about 40 children was planning to drop off students after school hours. A Punjab Roadways bus travelling from Amritsar struck the school van head-on near a private hospital on the Jagraon–Moga road.

Police reported that the van's front end was severely damaged. Along with the 35 students, 10 other people, including eight other passengers on the bus, were hurt.

According to police officials, the conductor and bus driver were injured and transferred to a hospital in Moga. They stated that the collision caused van driver Gurmukh Singh of Dodhar village to lose both of his legs.

According to police, the victims were taken urgently to a hospital in Jagraon. Those involved in the rescue effort had difficulty getting the students out of the severely damaged van.

Others who arrived at the Jagraon government hospital included (Deputy Superintendent of Police) DSP Satwinder Singh Virk, (Additional Deputy Commissioner) ADC Amit Sarin, and Jagraon (Member of Legislative Assembly) MLA Sarvajit Kaur Manuke. Additionally, some families in Jagraon moved their kids from the public hospital to the private institutions.

Many of the students hurt in the accident, according to sources, came from Kaunke Kalan hamlet.

Three students allegedly sustained significant injuries, and a Jagraon hospital referred them to the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in. Eight other bus passengers, according to him, were hurt as well.

The bus and van driver will be subject to punishment, the police officer stated. According to investigators, the van was carrying more students than it was designed to.

According to a student who was hurt in the collision, their school vehicle was moving on a one-way street with traffic approaching from the opposite side because of nearby road construction. She claimed that at the time of the crash, both the vehicle and bus were travelling quickly.
In the meanwhile, the accident caused a snag in the flow of traffic.
