The new Glanza and Toyota Urban Cruiser will also be available before the end of 2022.
Following the release of the new Brezza, Toyota will introduce the new Urban Cruiser small Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The new model will include considerable design improvements that will be consistent with the new Brezza. The redesigned Brezza is expected to go on sale in April 2022.
The next Toyota Urban cruiser will be built on the current platform and will keep the current design portfolio. The new model will include a redesigned grille, new headlight configuration, reworked bumpers, and new Light-emitting Diode (LED) taillights.
Inside the cabin, significant improvements will be made. The 2019 Toyota Urban Cruiser small SUV will have a completely redesigned dashboard with a bigger freestanding touchscreen entertainment system. Suzuki and Toyota collaborated on the development of this infotainment system. It will support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as speech recognition and navigation. The SUV will also be outfitted with wireless charging and a SIM-based connected car suite.
Paddle shifters, automatic air conditioning, a factory-fitted electric sunroof, a new semi-digital instrument dashboard, and other features will be standard on the new model. The top-tier model is planned to have a 360-degree camera. The new Urban Cruiser is rumoured to include 6 airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), a rear parking camera and sensors, and other features.
The new Toyota Urban Cruiser will be powered by the same 1.5-liter K15B petrol engine found in the present model. It has a power output of 104bhp and a torque output of 138Nm. For improved fuel economy, the car might be outfitted with a more powerful mild-hybrid powertrain. Instead of a four-speed torque converter, the new SUV might have a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The new model is expected to include sophisticated technology, as well as a sport mode, manual shift option, and more ratios. The new Brezza will also be available in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) form, however, it is too early to say if the Urban Cruiser will acquire this powerplant.
