Uncovered Tata Nexon facelift seen during official TVC shoot.

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch a new variant of its popular sub-compact SUV, the Nexon. The company has been working on this update for some time now and it is expected to be introduced in September. An unknown image of the upcoming Nexon facelift has recently been shared online, which is apparently taken during the official TV advertisement shoot of the car.

From the image, it is clear that the Nexon facelift has undergone significant changes, especially in the front-end design. The facelifted Nexon features Tata's signature split headlamp design, with slim LED DRLs placed above the main headlights in the bumper. This aligns the front of the Nexon with other SUVs from Tata that follow the same design language.

The side profile retains its overall shape and body lines along with new alloy wheels and a sunroof. Moving to the rear, a recent clear image shows sleek and sharp LED taillights with a connected LED strip in the middle. The rear bumper has been redesigned with sharper reflectors housing the silver skid plate and reverse lights.

Notably, the upcoming Nexon facelift will introduce a new nomenclature for its variants. The existing X-based variant names will be replaced with new names similar to Tata's Punch micro-SUV. These include Smart, Smart+, Smart+ (S), Pure, Pure (S), Creative, Creative+, Creative+ (S), Fearless, Fearless (S) and Fearless+ (S).

In terms of powertrains, the Nexon facelift will feature a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine along with the existing 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT, as well as the new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The upcoming launch of the Nexon facelift reflects Tata's commitment to refreshing its lineup and keeping up with market trends and customer preferences.
