Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG Automatic to launch soon, marking India's first CNG Automatic cars.

Tata Motors has unveiled the automatic variants of the Tata Tiago CNG hatchback and Tigor CNG sedan, making them the first factory-fitted CNG vehicles in India with an automatic gearbox. The booking for both models is open, with a token amount of Rs 21,000. The Tiago CNG automatic will be available in three variants (XTA, XZA+, and XZA NRG), while the Tigor CNG automatic will come in two variants (XZA and XZA+). The expected launch for both cars is this week, with prices starting at around 7 lakh (Ex-showroom).

Under the hood, both vehicles are equipped with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine generating 86hp and 113Nm of torque. In CNG mode, the power output drops to 73hp and 95Nm. The CNG models feature a 5-speed AMT and also offer a 5-speed manual transmission. Tata Motors claims to have optimized the gearbox for improved low-speed driveability, particularly in slow-moving traffic and parking situations.

The CNG models incorporate twin-cylinder technology to save boot space, a single advanced ECU (Electronic Control Unit), and direct start in CNG mode. The vehicles come with 14-inch wheels, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an eight-speaker Harman audio system, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and electrically adjustable and foldable wing mirrors.

The Tigor CNG variant includes additional features such as rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps. In terms of aesthetics, Tata Motors is introducing new color options, including Tornado Blue for the Tiago, Grassland Beige for the Tiago NRG, and Meteor Bronze for the Tigor.
