From 100 to 125 new learning license slots are added by RTO.

The number of slots available for learning licenses has been enhanced by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) of Dehradun from 100 to 125 as of Tuesday. Due to the increase in Covid-19 instances earlier this year, there are a sizable number of driving license applications that are still sitting at the RTO. The work was resumed on the premises on January 24, but the authorities also restricted the number of slots available to learners permit and permanent driving license applicants and made previous appointments necessary to carry out work at the RTO.

In order to clear the backlog of old applications, the Regional Transport office (RTO) later removed the requirement of booking online time slots to conduct tasks connected to permits, challans, and other items on the premises, but it did not raise the number of slots for learning and permanent driving license. Dinesh Chandra Pathoi, regional transport officer for administration, reported that for the past four months, the RTO has been trying to reduce the backlog while making sure that new candidates can register for open slots as well.

In light of this, the RTO expanded the number of learning license spaces from 100 to 125 starting on Tuesday, and more slots would be added for permanent licenses as well, stated Pathoi.
