An official said the decision is aimed at strengthening road safety measures and ensuring that transporters comply with necessary regulatory requirements.
The directive comes in the wake of the devastating accident in which a bus carrying 55 passengers fell 300 feet near Trungal-Assar on the Batote-Kishtwar National Highway in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the death of 38 people and 19 others were injured on Wednesday.
