Pune RTO sets up dedicated facility for inspecting festival procession vehicles.

Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has set up a dedicated facility for inspection of vehicles taking part in Ganesh Utsav and Eid-e-Milad processions. This facility will be used to inspect trucks, trailers and tractors transporting idols, sound systems and decorations during the procession to prevent any untoward incident.

The dedicated inspection facility will be available at Alandi Road Testing Ground and Dive Testing Ground of RTO Phulenagar from September 19 to September 29. RTO officials have urged members of the respective organizations involved in the procession to inspect and move their vehicles. Inspection certificate during the procession.

Vehicle owners are also encouraged to ensure that their documents are correct for inspection and take necessary precautions. Drivers are advised to use the handbrake when stopped for long periods, ensure the fuel tank cap is properly sealed, avoid unnecessary honking and switch off the engine when the vehicle is stationary. According to officials, flammable materials should not be kept in the driver's cabin and the number of people sitting around the driver should be limited to avoid any inconvenience while driving.
