109 public transport vehicles face a fine of ₹1.4 lakh.

On the second day of a three-day drive against errant transporters, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) collected a penalty of Rs 1.44 lakh from 109 public transport vehicles and seized two buses. RTO Pradeep Kumar Sharma reported that the drive, initiated on the instructions of Indore collector Asheesh Singh, aims to address violations by transporters.

The joint team of RTO, local administration, and traffic police conducted checks for various violations, including insurance, fitness, permit, registration, pollution certification, driver's license, and overloading of passengers. Two buses were seized during the drive—one for loading goods on its roof on Indore-Ujjain Road and the other for operating without a permit.

The team caught 32 public transport vehicles on Indore-Ujjain Road, 34 on Indore-Dewas Road, 22 on Betma-Dhar Road, and 21 at Mhow toll barrier among the 109 vehicles fined for violations.

On the first day of the drive, the joint team had collected a fine of Rs 1.24 lakh from 127 vehicles. This ongoing initiative highlights the commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and ensuring the safety and compliance of public transport in the region.
