No test at the RTO required for a driver's license? Observe new regulations.

Drivers of two-wheelers or four-wheelers won't have to go to the Regional Transportation Office (RTO) any more to get their licenses made. The Center has implemented new regulations for obtaining a driving license where passing a driving test is no longer required, which is a huge relief for the average person.

The requirements for acquiring a driver's license have changed, and the new regulations took effect on July 1st, 2022, according to the Union Ministry of Roads and Motorways. The government has given recognized driver training centers the authority to issue DL to qualified candidates following successful completion of training, relieving individuals of the requirement to attend the RTO and wait in huge lines to get their Driving Licence (DL) made.

Thus, a driving test is no longer necessary to receive a driver's license!

The state transport authority or the federal government must administer the driver training centers that would be providing the document. These centers will be valid for 5 years, after which they must be renewed.

How will this work?

People who want to earn their driver's license must enroll in one of these driver education facilities and pass a test that is given there.

The testing facility will offer a certificate once the test has been passed.

Following receipt of the certificate, candidates may submit an application for a driving license, which the RTO will issue based only on the training certificate and without the need for a test.
