Nitin Gadkari will lay the cornerstone for Rs 3,000 Cr in highway improvements in Manipur.

NEW DELHI: On Monday, through a virtual event, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will lay the cornerstone for highway projects worth Rs 3,000 crore for Manipur, the government said on Friday.

These initiatives involve building 316 kilometres of roadways.

On Monday, according to a release from the road transport ministry, Minister Gadkari would lay the cornerstone for 13 highway projects and launch a road safety programme in Manipur.

The virtual event will be presided over by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who will also be joined by Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways V K Singh, MPs, MLAs, and top officials from the federal government and the state.





According to the release, "These projects for inauguration and foundation laying have a Road length of 316 kilometres, involving construction value of nearly Rs 3,000 crore."

These roads would improve connection, convenience, and economic growth in the state while paving the path for Manipur's development, it was said.
