New Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 Nears Debut

Royal Enfield's extended teaser campaign for the upcoming Himalayan 452 is raising anticipation. This adventure touring motorcycle set out on a challenging mission to conquer the formidable Himalayan terrain and eventually reached the Umling La Pass during its decisive test phase. Scheduled for its global debut on November 7, 2023, the Himalayan 452 is one of the most eagerly awaited motorcycles of this year.

This versatile adventure bike KTM 390 Adventure is priced at Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom). One of its primary rivals, the 400X has recently entered the market with a price tag of Rs. 2.63 lakh (ex-showroom).

In contrast to the hardcore off-road capabilities of the Himalayan 452, the 452 will pave the way for a new 450 cc motorcycle range, which will include a roadster, scrambler and other body types. In terms of performance, the 452 will be powered by an all-new 451.65 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine, capable of producing around 40 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque output of around 40-45 Nm. This powerplant will be mated to a six-speed transmission and will include a standard slip and assist clutch. Although official technical specifications have not been released, leaked homologation documents indicate a weight of 196 kg.

It weighs about 3 kg lighter than the Himalayan 411, and the 452 boasts a longer overall wheelbase of 1,510 mm than its 411 cc brother. With a height of 1,316 mm, the 452 offers a feature-rich equipment list, which includes front and rear disc brakes, upside-down front forks, offset monoshock rear suspension and dual-channel ABS system with all-LED lighting.

The Himalayan 452 will be available in three different color schemes and will feature a circular instrument cluster. The top part of this cluster will be dedicated to navigation, while the bottom part will provide essential information. Other notable features include a wide handlebar and split seating.
