On November 28, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will lay 33/800 girder on the Khopoli to Palifata road on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway (NH-166D). Due to this, temporary diversion will be done from 12 noon to 3 pm.
If you are traveling from Mumbai to Pune and are about 1 km away from Mumbai on the expressway, you will be diverted towards Pune with a specified speed limit during this period. However, if you are going from Pune to Mumbai, your route will be unaffected. As per Pune Pulse report, normal Mumbai to Pune traffic will resume at 3 pm after the completion of the work.
In a separate incident, a tempo traveling from Mumbai to Chennai caught fire near Bhorghat area on Sunday night, leading to traffic halt for several hours. The prompt response of the police, fire brigade and local rescue teams ensured the safe rescue of the driver and passengers, although the tempo was completely destroyed. Despite the challenges, normal traffic resumed in the early hours of Monday morning, Pune Mirror reports.
In the initial investigation, the cause of the fire is said to be short circuit in the cabin of the tempo. Officials are closely investigating the incident to determine the exact cause and enhance safety of passengers on the expressway.
