Lotus to announce its India debut on November 9.

According to a media report, British sports car manufacturer Lotus is all set to announce its entry in the Indian market on November 9, 2023.

Reports suggest that Lotus has teamed up with Exclusive Motors to set up its first dealership in New Delhi. Initially, the company intends to introduce two models: the Emira sports car and the Electra electric SUV.

The Emira is a 2-door sports coupe whose global debut took place in 2021. It is available with two engine options: a Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine, with manual or automatic transmission, and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder. The turbo-petrol unit from Mercedes-AMG is paired with a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Electra is Lotus first all-electric SUV, built on electric premium architecture and featuring a dual-motor setup generating over 600 bhp. Lotus claims that the Electra can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 260 km/h. The electric motor is paired with a battery pack of over 100 kWh, offering a range of 600 km on a single charge (WLTP cycle).
